Dr. Ghayth Hammad: Staying Sane During Covid-19

With all of the restrictions related to the COVID pandemic everyone has had to develop a new "norm". Many are working from home, completing school assignments from home, and trying to care for elder parents or grandparents without exposing them to illness. Everyone is extremely stressed, and we are trying to maintain our sanity as these restrictions will continue for the remainder of the month. We wanted to provide some tips that may help with reduce the stress anyone might be experiencing.

Prioritize:  Make a plan of action by listing your work and personal priorities and deciding what can be delegated or postponed.

Stick to a routine: Still doing some daily routines within the home gives a sense of normalcy to the otherwise abnormal situation we're in.

Limit news consumption: Having daily news on in the background can only cause unnecessary stress. Make a decision about how much time you will devote to checking reliable sources.

Exercise: If you can get outside, take a walk or run. But there's plenty you can do inside. People are posting workouts on social media and hosting exercise classes on Zoom or FaceTime.

Using these tools can help to decrease anxieties. Remember our office staff is here to help our community get through this unprecedented time. We are such a strong community. Remember we are in this together. If we can assist you in any way let us know at 270-526-9562 or visit our website at https://www.ghaythhammadmd.com/.
