Don Locke; Lookin Thru Bifocals

I still enjoy the old movies- maybe you do. Here are some:

The Sundowners: Robert Mitchum. Lieutenant Shearers. Made in Australia in 1960. No salty language; beautiful country; funny characters.

Along Came Jones- Gary Cooper: (Melody Jones), The lovely Lorette Young. Melody, “guessed he knew 90 or so lines of “old Joe Clark”.” His favorite: “Old Joe Clark had a wife; she stood 7 feet tall. She slept with her head in the kitchen, and her big feet in the hall.! Melody’s horse’s name was Henry Henshaw, by-the-way.

Friendly Persuasion :(Gary Cooper) a Quaker family caught in the middle of the American Civil War. Cool characters and funny.

Heaven Help Mister Allison: Robert Mitchum. A U.S. Marine and a Catholic man. Evade the enemy on a Japanese held island (WWII). The Marine falls in love. She does not; she stays true to her vows. Clean, and highly entertaining.

Twelve O’ Clock High (WWII). Gregory (with Dean Jagger) Peck, takes over a down-and-out b -17- bomber group.
