- We see the Holy Spirit the first crack out of the box in Genesis One:...”The spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

- Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit before He ascended back into Heaven. He told his disciples, “I will send you another Comforter, the Paracletos (One who walks beside); the Holy Spirit. He will guide you in all things! But he can't come until I go away.”

We seeing the book of Acts He did come; On the Day of Pentecost (As cloven tongues of fire.)

The Bible teaches that Angels are are also our helpers. When Jesus had finished His encounter with the Devil in the desert, the Bible says that Angels (in person) came and “ministered unto Him.” (Jesus)

Even though the Bible refers to the Holy Spirit as a “person” as far as We Know we have encountered the working of the Holy Spirit in our souls; our minds and our hearts but no one has ever seen Him.

Not so with Angels. You'll remember when Angels visited Abraham in his camp and told him God was going to destroy the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah; If Abraham had any people there they had better be warned to get out. Of course Abraham's nephew Lot. Lot's wife and their two daughters lived there. (Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom.)

They did escape. However Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. Sometimes it is clear which one - the Holy Spirit or Angels it is at work in our lives -  sometimes it isn't clear.

I guess Angels work more with the physical encounter - not always through whereas the Holy spirit in our hearts and minds. I

One day when Beth and I were in the Air Force, I came home from the base and she informed me (out of the blue) “I think we need to sell our house. Something told me we should.”

We did a few weeks later we received the word that our Air Force base would be closing. Houses flooded the market. By this time we had found a rental house. The base did close.

-One day my daddy was driving along with his side windows down, something told him to raise his window to the top. He did. Suddenly a bullet hit his driver side window almost coming through - even with his head. Angels? Or the Holy Spirit? Take your pick.

-Brother Ken Willoway, former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Morgantown, was a member of an infantry rifle company in the Vietnam War.

One night he was assigned sentry duty beyond his dug - in position on a hill. He was warned of the enemy just outside of the perimeter. No sooner had he settled into his position he spied a man sitting on a downed log not far from him. It was not quite dark. The non-descript man had no weapon. He didn't look oriental. He just sat there watching Ken all night long. When morning came he was gone.

“Who do you think he was?” I asked brother Ken.

“I don't know,” he replied .

“I think I do,” I said . Brother Ken only grinned.
