Don Locke: Lookin Thru Bifocals
What hath God wrought? Made strong; able to bend without breaking can be hammered and formed, as a blacksmith re-forms steel into useful tools; established. God created it; man did the work on it. An old true saying: GOD created everything, but He manufactures nothing. He gives man talents to take what He creates and establishes. Man then takes His creation and fashions “Things and stuff”.
It has been said, one of the reasons some other civilizations, regardless of their ingenuity and skill, lashed a God whom they could consult as an all-powerful engineer. The mighty Jehovah has performed from the beginning of time that which both our machine and computers age is still trying to duplicate: He shut up the sea with doors and said: “Hitherto shalt than come no further”…
He made pools of water in the wilderness and turned the desert into a garden.
He numbered the stars and called them by name.
He commanded the clouds, and told rivers whither to flow.
He measured the water in the hollow of his hand.
He meted out the heavens with the span of the same hand.
He comprehended the dust particles in a measure.
He weighed the hills in a balance.
When we Pilgrims get discouraged here on this earth, remember what God has done and IS STILL DOING-even as we speak. “Who sends thy rain when the earth is dry? Somebody bigger than you and I.”
Kindest regards….
