Dockery named Region 3 Coach of the Year

LEXINGTON — Butler County head coach Calvin Dockery has been named the Region 3 Boys' Basketball Coach of the Year.

Dockery earned the honor from the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches (KABC), which honored coaches and players of the year in each of the state's 16 regions.

Muhlenberg County senior guard Trey Lovell was named the Region 3 Player of the Year by the KABC.

Under Dockery's direction, Butler County compiled a 16-10 record during the 2021-22 boys' high school basketball regular season.

The Bears are slated to host Grayson County in the semifinals of the 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 22. Tip-off for the Butler County-Grayson County matchup is set for 7:30 p.m. in Morgantown.
