Dillon Bryant Appointed to National Leadership Position on Agriculture and Rural Affarirs
Washington- National Association of Counties (NACo) President J.D. Clark appointed Butler County, KY Magistrate Dillon Bryant to a one-year term as Vice Chair, Agriculture & Food Safety Subcommittee, of the NACo Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee.
Wise County, Texas Judge J.D. Clark issued leadership appointments shortly after being sworn in as NACo’s president on July 14, at the conclusion of NACo’s annual conference, the nation’s largest convening of county leaders.
“I’m deeply honored to be appointed by NACo President J.D. Clark to serve on the Agricultural Committee. For me, agriculture isn’t just a profession it’s a legacy. I grew up walking the fields of our family farm in Butler County, Kentucky, where I now raise corn, soybeans, cattle, and sheep as the seventh generation to work this land.
Thomas Jefferson once said, “Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.” That quote has always resonated with me, and it guides my commitment to rural communities and the values we hold dear.
As Magistrate for the Fifth District in northern Butler County, now in my second term, I’ve seen firsthand how smart agricultural policy can strengthen families, preserve traditions, and fuel local economies. I’m eager to bring Kentucky’s voice and especially Butler County’s to the national table.
I also serve on several local boards and committees, and I’m a proud member of Barnetts Lick Baptist Church. These roles keep me grounded in the needs of our neighbors and the rhythms of rural life.
I look forward to collaborating with leaders across the country to shape policy that honors our agricultural heritage and builds a stronger future for all," said Bryant.
The Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Steering Committee is responsible for NACo policy on all matters pertaining to agriculture, rural development, U.S. Department of Agriculture programs, rural enery development, research and extension, food safety and condservation programs.
