Deputy Arko locates meth lab inside vehicle
While leaving the scene of a meth-related fire on Al Embry Road earlier today, Butler County Sheriff’s Deputy Heath West and Kentucky State Police Trooper Brian McKinney encountered a vehicle that was moving erracticly on the road. The vehicle was stopped and the driver Wesley J. Blunk 32, of Morgantown, appeared to be “under the influence" of a substance.
Suspected drug use prompted a call to Butler County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Reneer and K-9 Deputy Arko. Arko made a "hit" on the vehicle, which resulted in a mobile meth lab being found inside.
Blunk was arrested and charged with a plethora of offenses including the following: having a prescription-controlled substance not in original container (first offense); possession of drug paraphernalia; buy/possession (first offense); possession of controlled substance (first degree, first offense, drug unspecified); operation on a suspended/revoked operator’s license; possession of an open alcohol beverage container in motor vehicle; failure of owner to maintain required insurance; operating a motor vehicle under the influence, (aggravating circumstances); possession of a controlled substance (third degree); manufacturing methamphetamine (first offense); and carless driving.
Blunk was transported to the Butler County Jail.
