Deer Herd Management Workshop

There will be a Deer Herd Management workshop at the Eva Hawes Ag. Exposition building inside the Morgantown City Park on August 20, 2015 at 6:00 p.m.

Deer Hunting has always been an important part of Butler County culture and it is growing to be an important enterprise for many of our farmers and landowners.  Butler County, Kentucky is known far and wide as a great place to hunt both deer and turkey.  Each year in the fall, it is amazing to see the many different license plates on vehicles that have travelled hundreds of miles to come into Butler County to hunt our deer.  This workshop is intended to help those people who want to manage their deer herds with trying to increase the health and quality of the deer that live on their property.  Topics we plan to cover include:  deer herd management through selective harvest, using trail cameras to manage your herd, and improving the health of the deer herd.  There will also be a representative from QDMA on hand to discuss forming a QDMA chapter for Butler County.  Boyce Flener, White Tail Properties, will be leading the workshop.  This program is a follow up to the Food Plot Seminar that we offered in the spring of 2015.  There is no cost to attend the Deer Herd Management Workshop.
