Cross Country: Butler County finishes fourth in Class 2A, Region 2 Meet

Bears qualify to compete at state event for third straight year 

BOWLING GREEN — Butler County finished fourth out of 12 boys' teams in the KHSAA Class 2A, Region 2 Cross Country Meet at Ephram White Park on Saturday, Oct. 21. 

The Bears finished behind third-place Allen County-Scottsville, runner-up John Hardin and champion Thomas Nelson. 

With the fourth-place finish, Butler County advanced to the KHSAA state cross country meet for the third straight year. 

The Bears will compete in the KHSAA Class 2A Cross Country State Championship at Kentucky Horse Park on Saturday, Oct. 28. 

Parker Smith finished fourth to lead the Bears in the KHSAA Class 2A, Region 2 Cross Country Meet.

KHSAA Class 2A, Region 2 Cross Country Meet Boys' 5,000 Meter Run: 4th - Parker Smith, 16:53.82; 6th - Case Hooten, 17:11.60; 7th - Ryder Harbaugh, 17:29.77; 38th - Landon Henderson, 20:45.80; 52nd - Carson Davis, 21:57.91; 61st - Colt Akers, 23:00.13; 69th - Marvin Brown, 24:09.16.

KHSAA Class 2A, Region 2 Cross Country Meet Girls' 5,000 Meter Run: 44th - Harmony Taylor, 25:39.92; 50th - Geneva Cardwell, 26:23.30.
