Cross Country: Bears finish 19th in Class 2A State Meet

PARIS - The Butler County boys' cross country team finished 19th in the Class 2A State Meet at Bourbon County Park on Friday, Oct. 29. 

Taking the state team title, North Oldham won the Class 2A championship. 

Parker Smith paced the Bears, finishing 24th in 17:38.42.

The others finishes for Butler County were Trevor Joiner (18:58.31), 90th; Case Hooten (19:30.06), 128th; Landon Henderson (20:02.78), 151st; Colt Akers (23:33.83), 229th; Brian Cantu (25:45.36), 237th; Marvin Brown (26:04.72), 238th.

The Bears are coached by Matthew Embry and Kimberly Embry.

Additional teams competing in the state meet included Corbin, Webster County, Highlands, Boyd County, Thomas Nelson, Bell County, Trigg County, Calloway County, Christian Academy-Louisville, Harlan County, LaRue County, Spencer County, Lexington Catholic, John Hardin, Russell, Bourbon County, McCreary Central, Mercer County, Ashland Blazer, Scott, Warren East, Mason County, Allen County-Scottsville, Union County, Western Hills, Shelby County, Pike County Central and Magoffin County.
