Court hires regional jail consultant; considering Boys' Camp property for site

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, October 24, at the courthouse. All magistrates were in attendance:  Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.

The Court appointed Jarrod Evans and Colton Givens to the Butler County Extension District Board. Patrick Daugherty, Debbie Rose Worley, and Dwayne McKinney were also reappointed to the ambulance board.

The Court approved the hiring of Kelly White as the Regional Jail Consultant. Butler County will pay $7,500 of his salary for the year. According to Butler County Jailer Ricky Romans, White will help with hopefully securing the Green River Boys' Camp property for the site of the regional jail and assist in the possible housing of federal inmates.

The Court approved a 50-cent per hour raise for Eddie Cannon upon completion of the academy.

The Court approved possible equipment purchases (truck, snow plow, and sweeper) from the Kentucky Surplus Auction and set limits for each item.

The Court voted to opt out of the agreement for the digital sign at the ferry since the company could not provide the solar power required for operation.

The Court agreed to accept bids for cleaning the air ducts at the courthouse.

 

The Court approved the following:

--Treasurer's report for Fifth District VFD

--Bills and transfers

--Litter abatement payments to BCMS Girls Basketball, BCMS Academic Team, Salem Baptist Church

--Transfer $35,000 from General Fund to Jail Fund

--Transfer $25,000 from General Fund to E-911 Fund

 --Payment of Election officers
