County takes another step toward acquiring Boys' Camp property for proposed regional jail

A possible regional jail moved a little closer to reality at the December 23 meeting of Butler County Fiscal Court.  At the meeting with all magistrates present - Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Allen Smith, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant, were in attendance - Butler County Attorney Michelle Duvall presented the third revision of the deed for the Green River Boys' Camp property. The court gave Judge/Executive Tim Flener the authority to sign the deed and return to the state. The Green River Boys' Camp property will be used for the regional jail serving Butler, Ohio, and Edmonson counties.

In otherl new business, the court agreed to pay R &R Electronics $2,000 for their annual computer service.

The court discussed the differences between a gooseneck trailer and a bumper hitch trailer for the county road department. After a lengthy discussion, the magistrates decided to purchase the gooseneck trailer for $9,600.


The court approved the following additional items:

--Transfer of $35,000 from the General Fund to the Jail Fund

--Bills and transfers
