Coming Home by: Andy Sullivan

Sunday morning August 5, Monticello Baptist Church celebrated their 213th anniversary.  That would make 1805 Monticello’s inaugural year.  Let’s put this into perspective.  In 1783, just 22 years before Monticello first opened their doors, the Revolutionary War had just ended.  Kentucky became a state June 1, 1792.

Drops of Mercy, southern gospel trio based out of Kentucky, was the music for the morning.  Christy Miller from Hudson, KY and Clinton Spaulding from Louisville, KY were two of the three members able to attend that morning.  Kelly Casey had recently given birth and was on leave.

After the special music, Bro. Randy Burns brought the message.  Then everyone went to the basement for a meal-the Baptist staple-chicken and assorted sides and desserts.  Those in attendance had a great time of food and fellowship.  Thanks to Drops of Mercy for blessing us with the good music.
