As a woman, I think it's safe to say that most women buy things that smell good. For example, shampoo and laundry detergent. I have spent plenty of time in both aisles of the store, just testing out the fragrance. I want my clothes clean and I want my hair clean... and I want them to smell good, too.

We all like to have clean clothes, hair, dishes, cars, etc....  Having a good fragrance after the cleansing is just an added bonus. To have a clean home, car, clothes, dishes... It all takes some effort. It also takes some time.

What would be the result of never cleaning or washing anything? Or what about putting the effort into these just a few times a year.

Our heart and mind needs cleaning from the things of the world. Not just once a month, not just a few times a year. If we want a clean car, we use soap and a little scrubbing. Same strategy goes for our hair, dishes, and bodies. As for the laundry, we add the soap and the washer does the scrubbing. When there's a bad stain, we have to add some extra soap for that.

After the cleansing and scrubbing, it all comes out clean, refreshed and like new again. God can cleanse us with His word each day. We have to take the time and put in the effort. When washed properly, we come out clean, refreshed, and like new.
