Class of 1948 Reunion
The Morgantown High School graduating class of 1948 held their 63rd class reunion at the Moore-Kent House on Saturday, October 8. There were 13 graduates and 9 guest in attendance. Dorothy Railey Byrns came all the way from Florida to be with her friends. The group met at 11:00 am with lunch at 12:00. Jane Kent Smith served a delicious lunch that everyone enjoyed. Pictures were made and lots of reminiscing was done. Alma Jean Render Hocker, class secretary and reunion ramrod was unable to attend due to a broken leg and was missed by all. Pictured are the celebrities and notables who attended, Doris Ann(Annis) Tichenor, Mardell(Barrow) Givens, Glendel Coleman, Lewis Evans, Zora(Evans) Taylor, Roy Givens, Jr.(father of Air Force Brig. General Robert Givens. Also pictured are Clayton Hunt, class president, Charles Hutcheson, Joyce(Flener) Porter, Rollie Porter, Dorothy(Railey) Byrns, retired Air Force Colonel Kibby Taylor. Not pictured is Dorothy(Coots) Flener, who had to leave early.
