City presents Hispanic Heritage Festival
The Charles Black City Park in Morgantown is expected to be abuzz with activity on Saturday, September 21, as the City of Morgantown hosts its first-ever Hispanic Heritage Month. The event will run from 2 to 8 p.m.
The Hispanic population in Morgantown and Butler County has grown significantly in recent years and several have opened businesses in the community.
"As Mayor of Morgantown, I am thrilled to welcome the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day to our community. This event highlights the rich cultural diversity that makes our city stronger and more vibrant," said Morgantown Mayor Billy Phelps. "By embracing the traditions, stories, and contributions of our Hispanic neighbors, we not only honor their heritage but also strengthen the bonds that unite us all. It's a day to celebrate together and reflect on the beauty of diversity in Morgantown."
The festival will feature music, face painting, a basketball tournament, soccer tournament, authentic food trucks, bounce houses, and a movie (Encanto at 7:30 p.m.)
Food options include El Loco Appetizer, Taco's Way, Hot Tamale, McDavid's Chicken, La Garrafa Artisan Ice Cream, and Jason's Brownies.
