Chamber Luncheon Hosted by Warren RECC

Kenny Atkinson, of Warren RECC, shares information concerning electrical safety.

Warren RECC sponsored the monthly Morgantown-Butler Chamber Luncheon on Thursday at the Butler County Extension Office.  Kenny Atkinson, of WRECC, was the guest speaker and shared information about the Electric Power Grid and Electrical Safety.
“We will never see a new coal fired power facility, as other resources continue to increase,” said Atkinson. 
He shared examples of wind power, solar panels, hydro power, and nuclear plants.
“With the exception of solar power, all power is generated by turning something,” said Atkinson
Atkinson showed a wide variety of transformers and explained their function.  According to Atkinson all transformers are filled with mineral oil.
Atkinson stressed the importance electrical safety and shared several slides of what not to do around electricity and electrical lines.
In other business Shirley Allen recognized Wilbur Drake and James Robert Belilies as Morgantown Care and Rehabilitation volunteers.

Tracy Cowles and Tiffany Wilson won door prizes, from WRECC. Chamber President James Runion announced that Harvest on the Square is set for October 26 ;  the Chamber's Annual Dinner will be held in October ; Annual Christmas Parade will be December 7; and that September is the last luncheon of the year.
Ridge Top Ramblers will be in concert Saturday night at the courthouse lawn
The meal was catered by Green River Caterers.
