Chamber hosts annual awards dinners; several businesses, individuals recognized

Chamber Secretary Jessica Webb and Chamber President James Runion

 The Morgantown-Butler County Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards dinner on Thursday, November 2, at the Butler County Education Complex. 

Chamber President James Runion gave the introduction and thanked all that help our county and city.

“We are here to celebrate businesses,” stated Runion.  

Runion and Chamber secretary Jessica Webb planned and organized the event. 

Many businesses and citizens were recognized for their dedication and services to the community.

Mayor Billy Phelps and James Runion presented two videos (made by Jeremy Hack) - one promoting Morgantown and Butler County and the other an entertaining video of business owners showing off their dancing skills.

“Morgantown is a piece of paradise,” said Mayor Phelps.

The following businesses and individuals were recognized:

Outstanding Small Business of the Year: Dr. Hammad and staff

Outstanding Student of the Year:  BCHS student Claire Coleman

Outstanding Volunteer of the Year: Jeff Poston and family

Outstanding Nonprofit Civic Group: Trail Town Taskforce

Outstanding Agriculture Group: Green River Feed Mill

Outstanding Improvement Award: Hood’s Market

Outstanding Community Leader Award: Don Sullivan

Outstanding Industrial Business of the Year: Morgantown Freight
