Central Kentucky Sing
September 14th at Butler County High School was a resounding success, attracting approximately 500 attendees. The event featured two powerhouse performances: the nationally renowned Kingsmen Quartet and the United Quartet, formerly the Crossmen, a local favorite composed of Scott Flener, Darren Doyle, Jason Brooks, and Darren Lawrence.
The Kingsmen Quartet headlined the evening, with Morgantown native Brady Jones anchoring the bass vocals. His return to his hometown stage was a particular highlight for many, showcasing local talent nationally. The United Quartet, well-known in the local gospel community, also brought the house down with their harmonies, solidifying their place as one of the region's top groups.
The event's significance extended beyond Morgantown, with more than 200 visitors traveling from out of county to be a part of the evening, reflecting the strong appeal of Southern Gospel music in the region. The concert was completely free of charge, making it accessible for all and creating an inclusive atmosphere for families and music lovers to enjoy.
Organizers expressed their gratitude to the community for the overwhelming turnout and support from local and national talent. The success of this first event has set the stage for the Central Kentucky Sing to become an annual tradition, with plans to expand the lineup and attract even larger crowds in the coming years.
With its blend of homegrown talent and renowned gospel performers, the Central Kentucky Sing has already established itself as a critical event on the local cultural calendar, bringing together gospel music lovers across the region.
