On Tuesday, September 11, members of Butler County Farm Bureau gathered for their 80th annual membership meeting at the Eva J. Hawes Agriculture Center in Morgantown. President Shane Wells welcomed those in attendance at the meeting; an invocation by Bro. Jim McDaniels followed.

After dinner, which was catered by Green River Catering, Vice President Gregory Drake II introduced guests for the evening.  They included: Mellissa Mudd-Banner; David Fields-Butler County Judge-Executive; Sherry Johnson-County Clerk; Jason Gaskey- Morgantown City Council; Sterling White, Morgantown City Council; Gary Southerland -Morgantown City Council; Russell Givens Morgantown City Council; Joe Rogan- area program director Kentucky Farm Bureau and State Senator C.B. Embry; Larry Thomas- State Director, KY Farm Bureau; Sharon Burgess-state director KY Farm Bureau; Larry Thomas-state director Kentucky Farm Bureau; Pat Henderson-state director KY Farm Bureau.
Greg Drake II presented Butler County Farm Bureau’s Outstanding Service to Agriculture to Lloyd Saylor.  Lloyd moved to Butler County in 1985 to become 4-H agent.  The Extension office was in a covered alley where the Arts Guild is currently located. Lloyd has taken over 2,500 campers to 4-H Camp.  Lloyd’s passion is the 4-H camping program.  Lloyd has been driven to help kids. 

Caleb Smithson presented the Outstanding Young Farm Family award to the Nathan McKinney family. Nathan and Kaylyn farm 1500 acres. 

James Runion presented the annual insurance report.

President Shane Wells asked Don Sullivan to present the nominating committee’s report to the members.  The 2018 Directors are:
