Candidate Tim Flener- County Judge Executive

Hello Citizens of Butler County, I am Tim Flener, candidate for Butler County Judge Executive. I am a 1985 graduate of Butler County, following that I graduated Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science & Agriculture in 1990. I am a member and deacon at Belmont Church and thankful God has given me the opportunity to work & improve Butler County. My wife, Lisa Flener, and I owned Aberdeen Grocery for over 20 years.

Throughout those twenty years I grew to learn so much about Butler County and the people in it. I have always strived to represent the very best I could to my community through my business. I’ve always tried to be there to help out those in need, support the youth in any way I could, but most importantly I tried my hardest to make sure every customer that came in walked out with a smile and everything that they needed. I promise to offer Butler County the same service if honored to become your next Butler County Judge Executive.

Now is the time for Butler County to grow as a community, support one another, and succeed in reaching our goals. Every community member has a valid opinion that can help grow our small town. We have a wonderful community and I am more than ready to GROW, ACHIEVE, and ACCOMPLISH every need for our county. It is time we GROW as ONE, SUPPORT each other, and ACCOMPLISH every issue and goal that exists in our community. Three of the main goals I have set so far if elected as Judge Executive are as followed: industrial growth, improved internet access, and increased community involvement.

Industrial Growth

We are at a pivotal time in our county. The William H. Natcher Parkway is becoming an interstate spur, this will become a major asset to add to the many assets we already have in our community. I would like to target factories looking to employ 75-200 people. The main reason for this is because we have a low available work force in our county; by this I mean the majority of our workforce is outside of the county. I would like to see more people of Butler County being employed, working and growing our community together. By bringing in bigger industries I believe it would help our local businesses grow. As we grow, other industries will began to relocate to our area as well. I plan to actively be in contact with a lot of industries, reaching out to them and not waiting for them to come to us. I would love to have enough work here in Butler County to achieve the following: working in your hometown, doing what you love & getting off at a decent hour to spend time with your family and friends.

Internet Service: (County Wide)

Several discussions have occurred between myself and citizens in reference to the slow speeds of internet service or complete lack thereof in areas around their home and/or work place. If elected I will actively work towards finding a remedy for this issue. While our government cannot fully fund this task, I look forward to working with Fiscal Court to find viable solutions to this problem.

Community Involvement:

While at a local event I was asked a question in regards to community involvement. I firmly believe community involvement is part of being Butler County Judge Executive. To be able to hear your concerns, accomplishments, and show appreciation to those that host the events. Also will allow me to understand everyone’s various needs and differing points of view. If for some reason I am unable to attend someone from my office or family will be there in my place.

Over the past couple months I have been going door to door, meeting with Butler Countians face to face in an effort to hear and discuss your needs and concerns. Even though I still have a lot of neighborhoods to meet with, I have been fortunate enough to have met with a lot of you already.

In closing, I want to give a special thank you to my wife (Lisa Flener) who has been right by my side and supported me more than I could ever thank her for. My two kids (Kenzie & Kenten Flener) they have pushed me to always do my best. As they have grown into young adults, I see their future needs and it has pushed me to do my absolute hardest in this election to make sure they, along with all our younger generation, have a constant growing community everyone gets to call home. My siblings Todd Flener (Amy) and Tosha Sublett (Eric) have supported my campaign since the beginning and I couldn't thank them enough for the hard work and support they have given me thus far! Also a big thank you to my extended friends and family. Without the full support of my family and friends my campaign would not be going as wonderful as it is.

I humbly ask that on May 22, 2018 you vote Tim Flener (ballot 2) as your next, Butler County Judge Executive. If you have any questions or concerns, I would be more than happy to meet with you.
