Butler man charged with murder now facing sexual abuse charges
A Butler County man facing three counts of murder has now been indicted on multiple counts of sexual abuse as well.
According to a story in the Bowling Green Daily News, a grand jury in Warren County returned an indictment Wednesday charging Joseph Carey, 33, with four counts of first-degree sexual abuse and a count of first-degree sodomy.
The indictment alleges that Carey subjected a 12-year-old juvenile to forcible sexual contact, according to the Daily News article.
Currently, Carey is lodged in the Butler County Jail on charges of shooting and killing his wife - Angela Carey and her parents - Charles and Lupe McGranahan in a 2021 Butler County slaying, along with charges of wanton endangerment, burglary and tampering with physical evidence.
A pretrial conference for Carey in Butler Circuit Court is set for May 10.
