Butler County to visit Logan County for season opener
MORGANTOWN – Butler County is scheduled to visit longtime rival Logan County for its opener in the 2021-22 girls' high school basketball season on Friday, Dec. 3.
The Lady Bears finished runner-up to Grayson County in the 2020-21 12th District Girls'
Basketball Tournament. Following the district runner-up finish, Butler County made an appearance in the 3rd Region Girls' Basketball Tournament. After suffering a loss to Breckinridge County in the opening round of the 3rd Region Girls' Basketball Tournament, Butler County exited the 2020-21 season 9-7.
Butler County pulled away to beat Logan County 44-34 in a 2020-21 regular season game on Monday, Feb. 22.
Following a loss to rival Russellville in the semifinals of the 13th District Girls' Basketball Tournament, Logan County exited the 2020-21 season 5-22.
Logan County defeated Glasgow 55-35 in its season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
Under the direction of head coach Lexie Belcher, Butler County opened preseason practice in mid-October.
Tip-off for the Butler County-Logan County girls' basketball game is set for 7:30 p.m. in Russellville.
