Butler County Stockman’s Association Cattle Sale – March 12th

Cow/Calf pair consigned from the Floyd Washer Farm

The Butler County Stockman’s Association will hold their annual cattle sale on March 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.  The sale will be held at the Eva Hawes Ag. Exposition Center in the Morgantown City Park.  A committee of Butler County farmers has been working for a year to make the sale a reality.  There will be 52 breeding animals offered for sale on March 12.  The sale catalog that is available at the Butler County Extension Office or the Butler County Stockman’s Association facebook page gives specific information about the animals, their bloodlines, and the health program that farmers have used to get them ready for the sale.  Animals will be sold at auction, by the head.  Mr. A.J. Woosley, a Stockman’s Association board member and licensed auctioneer, will be selling the cattle for the Stockman’s Association.  Cattle will be available to preview at 11:00 a.m. and all animals must be removed from the sale facility that night.  Buyers should bring two forms of identification to register with the sale.

The cattle in the sale are of the highest quality.  Most heifers in the sale have met the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Kentucky Herd Builder program of heifer quality and development.  They have been reproductive tract evaluated and they have been treated with a proven health regimen.  There are both open and bred heifers in the sale.  Bulls are reproductively sound.  They will have passed a Breeding Soundness Evaluation within 30 days of the sale.  Buying animals of this quality will increase the productivity of most any farmer’s cow herd.  The Butler County Stockman’s Association invites you to come out to participate.  This program is designed to improve the cow herd in Butler and surrounding counties.  The committee believes that there is no reason to go outside of Butler County to find productive animals that will work well in any cow herd when we have them for sale here on March 12th at 1:00 p.m.  For a catalog, directions to the park, or more information please contact the Butler County Extension Service at 270-526-3767
