To celebrate, North Butler Elementary and Morgantown Elementary participated in dress as your favorite fruit/vegetable day. The students that participated were given a voucher for a Dippin’ Dots YoDots that will be offered a la carte at our schools later this month.
Local officials and legislators were invited to join the celebration. Sheriff Scottie Ward, County Clerk Sherry Johnson, PVA Suzanne Brosnan and Amy Deweese representing Butler County Judge Executive’s office were among the local officials who visited the schools last week to eat lunch and support the school nutrition programs.

Kentucky State Senator C.B. Embry Jr. attended Morgantown Elementary on Thursday in honor of the occasion. His attendance at the event was much appreciated by the school nutrition staff.

A special menu was planned for the week with the student’s favorite menu items. Nutrition education was also provided in the classrooms as part of National School Lunch Week and will continue throughout the month of October.

On September 30th, North Butler Elementary celebrated World School Milk Day. Every student  participating in school lunch received a sticker and had his/her picture taken with “Karrie the cow”. The celebration for Morgantown Elementary has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 10th.
