The 2016 primary election was held on Tuesday, May 17.  In Butler County a total of 1,358 individuals went to the polls and cast their vote. Butler County winners included Republican Rand Paul- United States Senator, Democrat Hillary Clinton- President, and Democrat Jim Gray- United States Senator.  According to Butler County Clerk Sherry Johnson Butler County elections results were:
