Butler County Republican Party Host Court of Appeals Candidates

Jenny Hines and Judge Chris McNeil

Tuesday night at the Kuntry Kitchen, Vice Chairman Osei Thomas opened the meeting.

Butler County Jailer Ricky Romans and Michele Duvall, Asst. Commonwealth Attorney

Voters will decide on November 3rd, the Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge for the 1st Division, which includes Butler County and twenty-three other counties in the western part of the state. When losing parties are unsatisfied with the District and Circuit Courts decision, they have the right to appeal.

Incumbent Judge Chris McNeill was appointed to this position by Governor Andy Beshear in April.

Chris has a Bachelor's Degree from Murray State University and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from Northern Kentucky University. For sixteen years before his appointment, he was the Directing Attorney for the Paducah Office of the Department of Public Advocacy.

He believes his conservative values, faith, work ethic, and life experiences have prepared him for this job.

Jenny Hines was raised in western Kentucky; she was the Valedictorian of Reidland High School in 2003.

She was a double major in History and Political Science at Murray State University in 2006.

In 2009 she earned her Juris Doctorate of Law from the University of Kentucky and, on the same day, was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force, where she served for four years.

Jenny has experience in private law and has previously worked for the Kentucky Court of Appeals as a case manager and staff attorney. She believes it's the judge's job to interpret existing laws- not make new laws; she is a "Veteran for Justice ."

After the meeting, donations were accepted for the Butler County Animal Shelter.

Especially in these trying times, we all need to do our research and VOTE on November 3rd.
