Butler County Piecemakers' Quilts of Valor
The Mission of the Quilts of Valor® Foundation is to cover Service Members and Veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. The Quilts of Valor Foundation was formed by a serviceman's mother who made him a quilt of comfort. Thus Mrs. Darlene Scott organized the Butler County Piecemakers to thank her father for his service. As a result, the Piecemakers have created and presented over 150 Quilts of Valor to deserving veterans of Butler County.
The following Veterans were presented Quilts on Veterans Day at the Butler County High School:
Marshall C. Anderson Sr.- United States Navy
Ronnie Brown- United States Army
Max Carpenter -United States Air Force
David Evans- United States Army
Gerald Hawkins- United States Army
Robert Wilson Jr.- United States Marine Corp and the United States Army
Michael Todd Yokley- United States Marine Corp

A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade Quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, "Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation."
