Butler County NSDAR's Veterans Breakfast

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Butler County Chapter hosted their annual Veterans Breakfast on Saturday morning at the BCHS Commons Area.  Chapter Regent Georgia Romans welcomed the group of over 20 veterans and their families.  Lois Russ, Flag Chair led the group in the Pledge, after which Doug Odle gave the invocation.

After enjoying a full course breakfast, Veterans Chairman Jennifer Odle spoke on family member, Edward Lee Odle, who was killed in action on June 6, 1944.  All veterans in attendance were recognized and presented a thank card for their service to this country.  


The oldest veteran in attendance was Carlton Drake, age 90.  The following veterans were recognized:

Marines- Geoffrey Henderson
Air Force- Glyn Tyree, Charles Hutcheson, Charles Mauzy
Navy- Mitchell Russ, Gus Vincent, Paul Belcher, Wilbur Drake, Carlton Drake, and Bill South
Army- Tommy Woods, Claude Givens, Thomas Cates, Douglas Odle, Carson Odle, Denzel Porter, Exel Clark, Bobby Hunt, Roger Brooks, Verner Cook, Larry R. Taylor, James Cartwright, and Ransom Gibbs
