Butler County High School Parent SBDM Nominations & Election

     Butler County High School is currently accepting nominations for two parent representatives to serve a one year term on the School Based Decision Making Council.  Any parent with a child attending Butler County High School during the 2019-2020 school year is eligible to run for SBDM.  SBDM representatives are required to attend a 6 hour training session for new members or a three-hour training session for any experienced member and are expected to attend monthly meetings. 

      Parent elections will be held in the front office of Butler County High School on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:45 pm.

     If you would like to nominate yourself or nominate someone else as a candidate to serve on the Council, please contact Crystal Coleman at (270) 779-6362 or BCHS at (270)526-2204 by 3:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2019.

     Candidates cannot be an employee or a relative* of an employee at Butler County High School, nor the Butler County district administrative office. Additionally, he/she may not be a board member, or a board member’s spouse.  The candidate cannot have a business interest with the district nor Butler County High School.  If elected, the candidate must submit to a national and state fingerprinted criminal background check within thirty days of taking office.

*Relative is defined, pursuant to KRS 160.380, as father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, or daughter.
