Butler County High School FCCLA Spring News

 State meeting delegates

The Butler County High Chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America attended the 68th Annual State Meeting in Louisville March 24-27.  Members participated in a variety of sessions addressing community service and leadership.   25 members participated in STAR Events competition.  Three teams/individuals placed in state competition:  Audrey Porter, Teach and Train, 2nd place; Shelby Austin, Caitlin Coleman, Delania Payton, Erica Daugherty and Haley Ford, Junior Parliamentary Procedure Team, 1st place; and Haley Adkins, Matthew Embry, Molly Sanders, Kortney Barbier, Jacob Mudd, Callie Dockery and Cassie Phelps, Senior Parliamentary Procedure, 1st place.  Our chapters also had several region 4 1st place winners who competed at state:  Logan Lawrence and Rachel Rose, Chapter Service Project; Laura Baseheart and Allie Romans, Chapter Showcase Display; Payton Howard and Emily Rich, Entrepreneurship; Kayla Spurgeon, Hospitality; Brittany Bingham and Hallie Jo Waddle, Interpersonal Communications and Bailey Hunt, Rachel Johnson and Allison Kurfiss, National Programs in Action.    Both Parliamentary Procedure Teams will represent BCHS at the national FCCLA meeting in Nashville, Tennessee this summer.
Also representing BCHS at the meeting was Ashley Bell, Mahkala Burden, Austin VonAxelson, Laura Hunt, Becca Daugherty, Lennon Johnson, Mrs. Barbara Sullivan, former FCCLA adviser and Mrs. Kimberlea Embry, FCCLA Adviser.
Congrats to the BCHS FCCLA chapter for receiving the Gold Honor Roll award.
Sophomore member, Payton Howard was recognized for earning the Power of One, a National degree.
Senior, Rachel Rose was alternate for the State FCCLA Scholarship.
