Butler County High School Fall Sport Senior Night

Gomez, Embry, Hixenbaugh, Arnold, Courtenay, and Wood

Prior to Butler County Bears’ last regular season football game against Ohio County the seniors and their parents of the fall sports were honored.


Girls Golf- Emily Wallace is the daughter of Greg and Penny Wallace of Morgantown.  She has been on the Golf Team for seven years.  After graduation she plans on attending college and majoring in biology.  Her favorite quote is “Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.”


Cross Country- Olivia Neighbors is the daughter of Chris and Tawnya Neighbors of Morgantown. She has ran cross country and track for six years.  Olivia plans to Attend WKU and major in Elementary Education.  Her favorite quote is “Don’t look back; you’re not going that way.”


Cross County- Maranda Dawn Pierson is the daughter of Leslie Pierson of Logan County and William Pierson of Butler County.  She has ran cross country and track for six years and been on the archery team for two years.  She plans to attend college and pursue a degree in the medical field.  Her favorite quote is “We are what we repeatedly do.  Excellence is not an act, but a habit.”


Cross Country- Nolan Kitt Johnson is the son of Dan and Michelle Johnson of Morgantown.  He ran cross country and track for three years.  Nolan plans to attend WKU and pursue a degree in Exercise Science.  His favorite quote is “If you ain’t first, you’re last.”


Cheerleader- Hanna Michelle Gruber is the daughter of Mike and Lynn Gruber of Morgantown.  She has cheered for four years.  Hanna plans to attend college to pursue a degree in Elementary Education.  Her favorite quote is “Cheerleading is a display of discipline, practice, dedication, determination, skill and athleticism.”


Cheerleader- Caitlin Gail Coleman is the daughter of Shawn and Sandy Coleman of Morgantown.  She has cheered for four years.  She plans on attending Murray State University and majoring in psychology.  Caitlin’s favorite quote is “It’s not what you take, but what you leave behind that defines greatness.”

Football- #66 Alfredo “Guapo” Gomez is the son of Alfredo and Rebecca Gomez of the North Side.  He has played football all day, every day of his life.  He plans to attend college and major in history.  His favorite quote is “Touchdowns, not first downs.”


Football- #27 Ian Embry is the son of Kenneth and Cindy Embry of the North Side.  Ian has played football and ran track for four years.  He plans to attend college and is undecided of his major at this time.  His favorite quote is “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.”


Football- #53 Isaiah Arnold is the son of Jimmy and Angie Arnold of the North Side.  He has played football for his entire life.  He plans to attend college and major in engineering.


Football- #7 Jacob “Hixey” Hixenbaugh is the son of Eric and Ada Hixenbaugh of the North Side.  Hixey has played football his entire life and ran track for three years.  He plans on attending college and pursuing a career as a sports therapist. His favorite quote is “If you want something you never had, then you have to do something you have never done.”


Football- #52 Jacob Courtenay is the son of Brian Courtenay of Davis Crossroads and Nissa Courtenay of Woodbury.  He has played football for four years.  He plans to attend college and become a captain of a boat.


Football- #59 Chris Wood is the son of Roger Wood of Bowling Green and the late Glenda Daugherty of Gilstrap.  He is the grandson of Billy and Wilma Daugherty of Gilstrap.  Chris was escorted by Coach Emmick and his teammates, meeting his Grandmother Wilma Daugherty at the fifty yard line.  He has played football his entire life.  Chris plans on attending college and becoming a game warden.  His favorite quote is “The greatest feeling in the world is when you’re on that football field, and you know that your team is going to succeed because you look around and see your ten best friends playing beside you.”
