Butler County finishes fourth in region, qualifies for state

OWENSBORO — The Butler County High School cheerleading team has qualified for the 2022-23 State Competitive Cheer Competition.  

The Butler County High School cheerleading squad finished fourth in the Region 2 Competitive Cheer Competition at Owensboro High School on Saturday, Nov. 5. With the fourth-place finish, Butler County qualified for the State Competitive Cheer Competition.  

Butler County placed behind Clinton County, runner-up Cumberland County and champion Franklin-Simpson in the Region 2 Game Day Small Division. The top four finishers in Region 2 advance to the State Competitive Cheer Competition. 

Butler County finished in front of Glasgow, Todd County Central, Muhlenberg County, Edmonson County and Warren Central in the Region 2 Competitive Cheer Game Day Small Division.

The Region 2 Competitive Cheer Game Day Small Division results were as follows: 1. Franklin-Simpson (93.90), 2. Cumberland County (93.80), 3. Clinton County (93.10), 4. Butler County (89.10), 5. Glasgow (89.00), 6. Todd County Central (87.00), 7. Muhlenberg County (86.20), 8. Edmonson County (86.10), 9. Warren Central (72.50).
