Butler County Family Care Sponsors Last Chamber Luncheon of 2016

Debi Clark and CeCeRobinson introduces Butler County Family Care staff.

Thursday’s chamber luncheon provided members and their guests with a chance to enjoy an excellent catered meal, fellowship, networking opportunities and an hour off from running their respective business. The time was filled with speakers and announcements of every kind.

In the absence of Chamber of Commerce president James Runion, Morgantown mayor, Billy Phelps performed announcer duties. After the welcome and blessing of the food, the crowd enjoyed the cooking of Green River Caterers. This month’s luncheon, held in the community room of the extension office, was sponsored by Butler County Family Care, a division of Ohio County Hospital. CeCe Robinson, Director of Community Relations, announced that the local clinic is now celebrating two years in the community.
“We so love being a part of Butler County. Butler County and Ohio County are very similar, so it feels like a natural home to us,” she said. They now have on-site x-ray services to better serve the county. Local nurse practitioner, Debi Clark, introduced the rest of the staff of Butler County Family Care.

Guest speaker, Donna Elmer, wellness ambassador from Rite Aid, provided an overview of the many services the company offers. Through company outreach, she visits such places as nursing homes and retirement villages to inform people of the need for vaccinations and offer advice through a program called, “Ask the Pharmacist.”

With National Adult Education Week approaching September 26 through October 1, Vonda Jennings, part-time director at the adult education center, provided a list of services they provide.  These include GED preparation, National Career Readiness, Kentucky Essential Skills Certificates, and skills training for companies.
