Butler County falls to Whitesville Trinity in district tournament

WHITESVILLE — Butler County couldn't battle back from behind as Whitesville Trinity won 3-0 in the semifinals of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament on Monday, Oct. 16.
The loss eliminated Butler County from the 12th District Volleyball Tournament. Butler County exited the 2023 high school volleyball season 6-26.
After notching the win, Whitesville Trinity improved to 27-8. Whitesville Trinity advanced to the 12th District Volleyball Tournament title match.
Whitesville Trinity defeated Butler County 25-13, 25-6, 25-12.
In the nightcap of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament, Grayson County shut out Edmonson County 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-11) to move on to meet Whitesville Trinity in the title match.
Madison Jones got the All Tournament Award on Saturday at the the Grayson County JV Regional Tournament
Madison Jones got the Academic Team Award at the first round of Volleyball District play and set a new school record for blocks with 35.
Evana Martin got the All District Team Award at the first round of Volleyball District play.
Following the season-ending loss, Sarah Kelley-coached Butler County will turn its focus to the 2024 high school volleyball campaign.
