Butler County falls to Whitesville Trinity in district tournament

BROWNSVILLE - Butler County was limited as Whitesville Trinity pulled away to win 3-0 in the semifinals of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament at Edmonson County High School on Monday, Oct. 18.

The loss eliminated Butler County from the high school volleyball postseason. After suffering the loss, Butler County exited the 2021 high school volleyball season 11-16.

With the win, Whitesville Trinity improved to 24-5 and advanced to the 12th District Volleyball Tournament title match.

Whitesville Trinity beat Butler County 25-13, 25-16, 25-7.

Abigail Dockery (14 digs), Haley Merideth (6 assists), Alexis Burdin (2 kills, 9 assists, 4 digs), Cassidy Parker (4 kills, 9 digs, 2 service aces), Kristen Blunk (1 kill), Autumn Gidcumb (7 kills, 16 digs, 2 service aces) and Carley Jones (1 kill, 1 block) each contributed for the Bears.

In the other match of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament Semifinals, Grayson County defeated Edmonson County 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 25-17, 25-2)
