Butler County drops 12th District match to Edmonson County

MORGANTOWN — Butler County continued to show improvement but fell short as visiting Edmonson County won 3-0 in a 12th District volleyball match on Monday, Aug. 22.

Edmonson County managed to beat Butler County 25-23, 25-12, 25-14.

Sammie Johnson (15 digs, 2 service aces), Raegan Tuck (2 kills), Carley Jones (1 kill, 4 assists, 6 digs), Alyssa Thacker (4 kills, 4 digs, 1 service ace), Johna Cox (1 kill, 1 service ace), Lily Glass (6 kills, 2 digs) and Haley Meredith (1 kill, 9 assists, 1 service ace) each contributed for Butler County in the district match.

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the 12th District.

Due to a COVID Cancellation, Butler County notched a win over Cloverport. Butler County was scheduled to host Cloverport on Tuesday, Aug. 23.

The win over Cloverport allowed Butler County to improve to 1-3 overall.

Butler County is scheduled to visit Grayson County for a 12th District match on Thursday, Aug. 25.
