100 mile challenge participants

The past six weeks the Butler County Cross-Country team participated in the “100 Mile Challenge” in order to stay in shape during the off season. The challenge consisted of team members who volunteered to run daily to the final goal of 100 miles in six weeks. Fifteen runners were able to achieve this goal and received “100 mile club” tshirts as their reward.

The following runners earned their 100 mile club tshirts- Hannah Perry, Maranda Pierson, Cameron Price, Samantha Henderson, Dalys Bishop, Delaney Embry, Olivia Neighbors, Garrison Odle, Jacob Mudd, Emma Robbins, Reece Robbins, Easton Phelps, Connor Brown, Walter Givens, and Kain Neighbors. “I never imagined I would have this many runners take part in this event when I was in the planning phase. These athletes continue to exceed my expectations and I am honored to be their coach”, says Head Coach Kaitlin Harrison.

The team has concluded the 100 mile challenge and will be back in action this summer as they prepare for the 2012 season.

7th grader Hannah Perry completed the 100 mile challenge in 29 days and was the first finisher.

Yes, Pam, we are proud, too! It's incredible what these student athletes can do when coaches go the "extra mile" for them!
Congrats to all the runners
This is not only a great sport, but is a fine avenue for young adults to occupy their time and talents. Thanks to the wonderful coaches who inspire the kids.
