Butler County Chapter NSDAR Silver Tea

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) held its annual Silver Tea meeting on April 20, with a great turnout of members and guests. The event took place at Butler County High School.

The meeting began with a warm greeting from the Regent, Lynda O'Driscoll, followed by an opening prayer from the Chaplain, Peggy Drake. After the opening remarks, the meeting moved on to the awards ceremony.

BCMS Youth Citizenship: 6th-grade Ryleigh Southerland, 7th grade Mark Gruber, 8th grade Emmie Hawkins

Lynda Wood presented the Butler County spelling bee winner, Junior American Citizen, Butler County Middle School Junior American Citizen, and Excellence in American History awards.

Gail Gaddie presented the JROTC award to Erica Sells, recognizing her outstanding service to the community and the country through her participation in the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC).

Jennifer White presented the Butler County DAR Good Citizen Award to Tobin Maxfield, recognizing her strong leadership qualities and his dedication to serving his community.

Jane Smith presented the Butler County DAR scholarship to Jenna Phelps, who had demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and dedication to her studies. In addition,

Lynda O'Driscoll awarded Tobin Maxfield with the Ermie Lee Martin Scholarship for her outstanding academic achievement and leadership qualities.

Regent Lynda O'Driscoll then gave her closing remarks, thanking all the members and guests for attending the event and highlighting the importance of honoring the achievements of young people in the community. The NSDAR Silver Tea meeting was a great success, bringing together community members to celebrate and recognize the outstanding achievements of young people in Butler County.
