Butler County Chapter NSDAR Silver Tea
The Butler County Chapter NSDAR held their annual Silver Awards Tea on Thursday, April 28 in the Lucille Hood Room of the Butler County Public Library. There was standing room only as many parents and other relatives came to see the students recognized for their achievements. The program began with a welcome from Chapter Regent Georgia Lavern Romans and devotional by Chaplain Peggy Drake. The pledge to the flag was then led by Flag chair Lynda O’Driscoll. A commercial break came next when Registrar Linda Deweese encouraged all ladies attending to consider joining the DAR as she presented them with an informational brochure.
The awards were then presented to those students who were in attendance. Finally a special tribute was given to all mothers attending in honor of the 102nd national observance of Mother’s Day, after which refreshments were enjoyed by everyone.
