BUTLER COUNTY CHAPTER NSDAR COMMUNITY LITERACY CHALLENGE
The Butler County Chapter NSDAR recently received a number of state and national awards for their activities during the last year. Among those were awards from the KSDAR Library committee for the group’s literacy efforts. The Butler County Chapter falls in the category of 26-50 members and received an award for Reading the Most Books and another for having the Most Readers to complete books from the suggested list. Laura Crafton and Georgia Romans also received individual awards for completing the entire list of books for the 2017-2018 year.
Each year the Kentucky Society Daughters of the American Revolution librarian compiles a list of recommended books for the ladies to read, many of which have historical content. The Butler County Chapter librarian Laura Crafton would like to invite community members to join us in reading from our 2018-2019 list. Many of the books are available at the Butler County Public Library or online as an eBook.
