Butler County Chapter DAR Honors Butler County Students at 43rd Annual Silver Tea

On Thursday, April 25, the Butler County Chapter National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its annual Silver tea. The Butler County Chapter has been recognizing outstanding Butler County students for 42 years!

The Daughters of the American Revolution are not just dedicated to promoting patriotism and preserving American History but also securing America’s future through better education for our youth.  Butler County Chapter DAR offers so many ways in which students, grade school through high school, can become involved.  Junior American Citizenship, JAC, offers opportunity for students 1st-8 grade to enter Poster, Stamp and Poem contest in all Butler County schools. After they place at chapter level then state level and then may go on to National.    Each April we  recognize  the winner of this past years Spelling Bee, BCHS NJROTC , Outstanding American History teacher, Outstanding American History student, Butler County Chapter DAR Good Citizen and “New Frontiers in Education”. The Chapter also offers three scholarships to Butler County Seniors: Butler County Chapter DAR Scholarship, Ione Duke Scholarship and the Ermi Lee Martin Scholarship.

We  put forth projects, building blocks, for our children to build their futures on recognizing  their abilities, enhancing their self esteem, showing them how important good citizenship and team work are, making them proud to be Americans  and letting them know their futures are only limited by their imaginations.

If you would like any more information about any of Butler County Chapter programs or are interested in membership please call Lynda D Knight, Regent at 999-0273. We meet at the Butler County Public Library every 4th Thursday at 6:o0.
