Butler County blanks Cloverport, 3-0

MORGANTOWN — Returning to the win column, Butler County blanked visiting Cloverport 3-0 in a non-district high school volleyball match on Monday, Oct. 10.

The Bears won after suffering back-to-back losses.

Butler County forced Cloverport to play from behind throughout the non-district high school volleyball match.

Winning convincingly, Butler County beat Cloverport 25-10, 25-16, 25-17.

Lily Glass (8 kills, 6 service aces), Haley Meredith (2 kills, 8 assists, 1 service ace), Evanna Martin (2 digs, 5 service aces), Sammie Johnson (4 digs, 3 service aces), Maelyn Bilicki (1 kill), Carley Jones (4 kills, 1 dig, 3 service aces), Alyssa Thacker (4 kills, 13 assists, 2 service aces) and Raegan Tucker (2 kills, 1 block) each contributed for Butler County in the shutout win over Cloverport.

Butler County, a member of the 12th District/3rd Region, entered the week with additional regular season matches remaining versus Russellville, Foundation Christian Academy and Whitesville Trinity.

12th District Volleyball Tournament set for Oct. 17-18

LEITCHFIELD — The 12th District Volleyball Tournament is set for Monday, Oct. 17-Tuesday, Oct. 18.

Grayson County will host the entire 12th District Volleyball Tournament.

Butler County is slated to meet Whitesville Trinity in the opening match of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17.

Grayson County is pitted against Edmonson County in the nightcap of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament's first night at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17.

The championship match of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18.

The champion and runner-up from the 12th District will advance to the 3rd Region Volleyball Tournament.
