Butler County to Benefit from 2017 Day of Caring

United Way of Southern Kentucky (UWSK) and Feeding America, Kentucky’s Heartland (FAKH) are teaming up to bring the “2017 Day of Caring” to Butler County on Wednesday, July 26.
A Mobile Food Pantry and food distribution will be set up at Morgantown Mission, 105 South Main Street in Morgantown at 10 a.m. UWSK volunteers will help sort, organize, and load fresh produce and donated grocery items for residents of Butler County.

The United Way Day of Caring is a structured volunteer opportunity, giving business employees a chance to “step away from their desks” to provide hands-on, volunteer labor for a wide variety of projects. Following in line with United Way’s Community Impact focus, all projects in the eight counties of UWSK will impact issues in education, income, health and safety net.
FAKH is a regional food bank and provides hunger relief assistance to individuals, families and seniors who are residents of Butler County.  The non-profit organization also serves 41 additional counties in Kentucky.
