Butler County belts four homers in loss to Hickman County

MORGANTOWN — Three Butler County players combined to hit four home runs but Hickman County held on to win 13-10 in eight innings on Wednesday, April 3.

Following the loss, Butler County dropped to 1-7. 

Hickman County, a team out of Region 1, outscored Butler County 5-2 in the eighth inning to claim the win. 

Miley Franzell took the loss in the circle for the Bears. Franzell pitched a complete game, recording seven strikeouts over eight innings. 

Butler County lost despite outhitting Hickman County 15-13. 

Mia Thomas hit homers for the Bears. Also displaying power at the plate, Karrington Hunt and Madison Clark each clubbed one home run for Butler County during the high-scoring game. 

 

Franzell (three hits), Thomas (two hits, two RBIs), Hunt (three hits, three RBIs), Clark (two hits, two RBIs), Parker Willoughby (three hits, two RBIs), Taylor Smith (one hit, one RBI) and Jenna Tomes (one hit) each produced at the plate for Butler County during the matchup.
