Butler County Bassmasters held their first Open tournament for the 2016 season at Peabody WMA Saturday, March the 19th. The air temperature was a little chilly, but the lake conditions were good with 90 fish being brought to the weigh scale for a total weight of 175.47 pounds for the tournament, with all fish being released alive back into South and Island Lakes except 1. A total of 27 boats participated in the tournament with Raymond Wood and Kenny Austin taking 1st place with 16.27 lbs. and Big Bass 7.26 lbs., 2nd Garrett and Brittany Leach 12.16 lbs., 3rd Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors 10.88 lbs., 4th RJ and Ron Anderson 10.69 lbs.

The Hartford Masonic Lodge partnered with BCB at the weigh-in to sell grilled hamburgers and hot dogs to raise money for local charities. According to John McEwen, Hartford Lodge and BCB member, the event was a great success. The next BCB event will be an open (no membership required) tournament at Lake Beshear in Dawson Springs, Saturday, April the 2nd. Tournament starts at 7:00 AM with weigh-in at 3:00 PM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat. Come on out for a great day of fishing.

BCB would again like to thank all of our members and 2016 sponsors for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great year of fishing and fellowship in 2016.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters for 2016, listed below is their contact information.
