Butler County Bassmasters hold first night tournament @Barren River

Cyle Morris and Ethan Wheat

Butler County Bassmasters held their sixth Team Trail tournament of the 2018 season at Barren River Lake on Friday July the 6th. This was the first night tournament of the year and the fish are out in their deep water areas for the summer.  Barren River Lake has always been fun, providing excellent numbers of keeper sized bass, and it was no different this year.

There were several nice bags of fish caught with multiple bags over 10 lbs. There was a good turnout with Cyle Morris and Ethan Wheat taking 1st place with 15.79 lbs.,

2nd Mark King and Steve Gentry 15.59 lbs.,

3rd Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors 14.17 lbs.

Big bass of the tournament went to Jimmy Leach and Garrett Leach with a 4.52 lb largemouth.

The next BCB event will be the 3rd Annual Beech Tree News Night Open at Lake Malone on Friday night July 27th. Tournament starts at 6:30 PM with weigh-in at 3:00 AM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat. This is a 3 fish limit tournament. Come on out for a great night of fishing.

BCB would again like to thank all of our members and 2018 sponsors: Southern Outdoors, Cabela’s, Beech Tree News, Jackson Chiropractic, CRT Sports & Monogram, and Interceptor Bait Company, for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great year of fishing and fellowship in 2018.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters for 2018, listed below is their contact information.
