Butler County Bassmasters hit Barren River Lake

Chris Johnson and Dustin Dockery

Butler County Bassmasters held their fifth regular season points tournament for the 2017 season at Barren River Lake Friday night, July the 7th. The fish have moved out to their summer haunts in deep water.  The strong storms that moved into the area made the last 2 hours of the tournament quite difficult.  Barren River Lake usually puts up excellent numbers of fish, and it didn’t disappoint Friday night. The lake conditions were right with 49 fish being brought to the weigh scale for a total weight of 110.94 pounds for the tournament.

18 boats participated in the tournament with Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors taking 1st place with 16.56 lbs.,

2nd David Coleman and Ryan Coleman 15.71 lbs.,

3rd Matt Embry and Robert Parker 12.55 lbs.,

4th Chris Johnson and Dustin Dockery 11.22 lbs.

Big bass of the tournament went to Chad Morris and Travis Warren with a nice 5.28 lb largemouth.

The next BCB event will be the Summer Night Lake Malone Open sponsored by Beech Tree News at the Lake Malone State Park Ramp, Friday night July 21st. Tournament starts at 6:30 PM with weigh-in at 3:00 AM. Entry fee will be $40.00/boat. Come on out for a great night of fishing.

BCB would again like to thank all of our members and 2016 sponsors, Cabela’s, Beech Tree News, Jackson Chiropractic, CRT Sports & Monogram, and Interceptor Bait Company, for their commitment to the sport of bass fishing and our community. BCB is looking forward to a great year of fishing and fellowship in 2017.  For anyone wanting to learn more about BCB or wishing to fish with Butler County Bassmasters for 2017, listed below is their contact information.
