Butler County Bassmasters @ Barren River Lake

Danny Cardwell and Chris Phelps took home 1st place with 13.48 lbs.

Butler County Bassmasters held their fourth team trail points tournament for the 2016 season at Barren River Lake on Saturday May 28th. This tournament was moved from it’s scheduled location at the Rochester ramp on Green River due to high water.  The weather at the lake was great with plenty of fish being caught before the increased boat traffic due to Memorial Day weekend shut the fish down. The fish are starting to move into their summer pattern.  They are beginning to make a move toward the deep water areas and should begin to school up in the next couple of weeks.

There were 43 fish brought to the weigh scale for a total weight of 89.93 pounds for the tournament, with all but 3 being released alive.  Danny Cardwell and Chris Phelps took home 1st place with 13.48 lbs.

2nd Brian Vincent and Clay “Big Fish” Vincent with 13.20 lbs.

3rd Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors with 12.80 lbs.

Big Bass went to Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors with a 3.93 lb. largemouth.  For anyone wanting the complete tournament field results and up to date points, you can visit the web-site at butlercountybassmasters.webs.com.  The next BCB event will be an Open tournament at the Port Oliver ramp on Barren River Lake, Saturday June 4th from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Entry fee will be $40.00.  Come on out for a great day of fishing.
