Butler County 8U Wins District 12 Cal Ripken Championship
It was a memorable week for the Butler County 8U All-Stars as they battled through pool play and tournament action to come away as District 12 Cal Ripken Champions.
The All-Star team brought together selected players from each of Butler County’s regular season teams, creating an opportunity for athletes from across the league to represent the county in district competition.
The tournament began Monday, June 22, with a matchup against Madisonville, where Butler County came up just short, falling 13-11. The team responded well on Tuesday night, defeating Muhlenberg County 17-5 to close out pool play on a high note.
In Thursday night tournament action, Butler County met Madisonville again and were able to flip the outcome, earning a 7-3 victory to advance to the championship game.
In the championship matchup against Ohio County, Butler County delivered a strong performance, coming away with a 14-4 win to secure the district championship.
After an early setback in pool play, Butler County finished the tournament with three straight wins, showing steady improvement and resilience throughout the week.
The team was praised on the Butler County Youth Baseball Facebook page:
“BCYBA is incredibly proud of the effort, teamwork, and determination these players showed throughout the tournament. Thank you to the coaches, families, and supporters who cheered them on every step of the way.”
